The New Tentative Agreement Between the Washington Teachers' Union and DCPS

A new contract proposal between the Washington Teachers' Union and DCPS is scheduled to be approved soon by Union members, according to the Washington Post on May 20th.

The tentative agreement would raise the average annual salary from about $67,000 to $81,000 - by 21.6%. It would also create a privately financed performance compensation program to begin in 2013, potentially adding $20,000 to $30,000 a year to teacher pay based on criteria such as improvement in student test scores.
